Greenfield Public School is a secular school embracing all faiths. The students are acquainted with different traditions and practices in the form of Special Day Celebrations during assembly time.
The students learn:
Every citizen of Karnataka is a Kannadiga!. Karnataka Rajyotsava is celebrated every year in the school.
Karnataka Rajyotsava was celebrated with flair during assembly time in Greenfield Public School. Students came dressed as various renowned historical personalities from Karnataka and spoke in ‘Kasturi Kannada’ about their contributions to its glory. This was followed by a traditional group dance performed by the students to befit the occasion. The Principal, Mrs. Aruna Iyer graced the occasion enlisting the magnanimity of the state of Karnataka, to have embraced various cultures and has become home to them today. The occasion concluded with everyone standing in veneration for the state anthem.
Teacher's Day was celebrated in GPS on 5/9/19, to commemorate the birthday of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.
Students had organised a splendid program for their teachers. They made time from their hectic calendar and practiced with their hearts and souls to put up a brilliant performance as a treat to their teachers. The show was put up independently end to end, by the students without any adult intervention. They anchored, compered, entertained, sang, danced, hoopla-hooped and even played played the violin. The teachers were not only enthralled by the scintillating performances, but also impressed with the brilliant team spirit, organisation and leadership skills the students acquired and displayed during this process.
